So I'm obviously horrible at this blogging thing. I'm not surprised, being that a two year old doesn't leave you a lot of, "thinking and writing", time. The tiny toddler mouth is on constant blab mode, and I love it! Although, some time to gather my adult thoughts would be nice.As I sat here writing the previous paragraph, my little toddler butt came to me holding an ornament that she had just so quietly taken off the tree, saying "Momma me poop butt".
We decorated our tree last night, and started a new tradition (MARUSCHAN!) of decorating our tree on Evelyn's birthday. We had such a great time! I will post pictures at some point but I have to wait until Vince wakes up and gives me his USB cord for his camera, because our camera is now broken and doesn't work, yippee. It was amazing to me how I didn't have to explain to Evelyn how this Christmas thing works. We went and bought some new decorations, 50% off at Lowes, woo hoo! We then got our Christmas tree. Eve was very excited throughout this process, and the minute we got home, before I could even begin to open our things and before August could get our other Christmas decorations from the garage; Evelyn had already ripped open all of our new decorations and started setting them up on our console table/record player. I didn't even know she knew how to open plastic wrapped things! I also didn't know that she understood what the point of Christmas decorations was all about, but she did.... of course! She always figures stuff out before I can even explain them to her....the teenage years will be fun!
I thought one of the cutest moments of the night was when August was putting Evelyn's Christmas jam-jams on and he asked her, "What do you want Santa to bring you for Christmas this year?" What does Evelyn say?..."Presents!" I didn't know she understood that either! But she does! All in all, we had such a fantastic time last night! Evelyn was so interested in EVERYTHING, and very excited, and our house looks mighty Christmasy! Now all I need to do is remember the innocence in my daughters excitement over Christmas and that will keep my humbuggedness out :)
